What is the Panacom Admin Panel?
It is an access panel that allows you to add, edit, and delete items from your website. When every you do this, it updates your database of items and makes the necessary changes and stores that for use when someone accesses the website. It is important to note that each area listed in the admin panel are mearly "plugins" and every admin panel is set up to only take advantage of what you need for your site to avoid confusion. If you want a plugin added (ie shopping carts, faq, testimonials, etc.) You must contact me and let me know and I can do so. As a note, plugins that need to be customized may be charged.

How do I add a link to another page?
Adding a link is easy. First off, simply type what you want to appear on the page (ie "Click Here"). Next select the text you want to be made into a link and then click the "link" icon (it looks like a chain link). A new window will pop-up. in the "Link URL" field enter in the web address of the page you want to the link to take you to. The rest of the info is extra and not required. Finally, click the "Insert" button at the bottom.
How do I add images?

When I add a style, how do I change back to normal text?
To remove a style you need to use the "remove formatting" button. Sometimes however, it may not work. The reason is that it thinks that its still inside the style's "tag." To fix this, move the type indicator right after the end of the last section of styled text and then highlight the section you want the text you want back to normal. That should do the trick. If that doesnt work then you need to do a bit of code fixing manually. Click the "HTML" button and find the section of text you want to remove the formatting for. It will usually be surrounded by a Your text take out the span tags surrounding the text as well as the and hit update.
Can I make "tables"?
The answer is yes and no. Because Tables are considered "depreciated" in most circumstances in web development, this has been disabled by default. If you know HTML you can enter it in manually (see below for entering in HTML manually). If not and you must use tables, email me and I will add it to your admin panel
How do I make multiple "returns" like most word processor applications?
Developing for the web can seem backwards compared to other applications. Because each website is ruled by a different set of "styles" your site may not multiple returns when you click "Enter". This is remedied by clicking "Shift + Enter"
When I cut and paste content it shows properly, but after I add a page it displays differently.
Again, different browsers display differently - and some may be VERY different. You can get a better idea by clicking the "preview" button in the textarea you are editing. Also if you are editing a page, in the "Pages" list if you click the item name it will bring up a full preview page in whatever browser you are using. Other items (testimonials, gallery, contacts, etc.) will only bring you to their respective "edit" page.
How do I get rid of the border on images that are also links?
its considered "standard" to put an border on pictures that are links so that the user can tell that it is a link. Sometimes it doesn't fit your style however. To change this, click the "insert / edit image" button and then enter "0" for your border.
I know HTML, is there a way to enter code in myself?
There are two ways to do this. The easy way is to simply click the "HTML" button which will bring up an HTML mode. The "hidden" way is to simply put _HTML after the page name in the URL which will turn off the WYSIWYG panels completely. So for pages enter

How do I edit a page?
To make changes to a page, simply login (if you haven't already) then click "Pages." This will take you to a list of pages that you can edit. Next, find the page you want to edit and then click the "pen" or "edit" icon next to the item you want to edit. Once inside you can edit the contents of tha page. If you are editing a page generated by scripts (ie contacts, gallery, testimonials, etc.) then instead of selecting "Pages" simply select the item you are editing.
How do I add a new page?
To add a page, simply login (if you haven't already) then click "Pages." This will take you to a list of pages. Next, click the "+" or "add" icon in the top right of the page. Once inside give the page a name (pay attention to the warning - you must create an unique name for the page!). After you have given it a unique name, create your page and then click "Add." Once its done, it wont be automatically entered in so you must notify me and Ill add link it where you want it linked.
When I add a page, I get an error message, "Error , Query Failed! Please make sure the page you are trying to create does not already exist."
Each page must have a unique name. This means you cant have two pages named "services." You will need to try again. If you continue getting this error then you are likely having database issues. email meand I will look into the problem.
How do I delete a page?
First, make sure you really want to delete the page! To delete a page, simply login (if you haven't already) then click "Pages." This will take you to a list of pages that you can edit or delete. Next, find the page you want to delete and then click the "-" or "delete" icon next to the item you want to remove. Click "Delete" followed by "Ok." Thats it.
What is Website Metadata for?
Metadata is the special keywords and phrases search engines use to categorize your website. If you want your site to be searchable from search engines, its in your best interest to fill out this section.
What should I put in the keywords and description fields?
Keywords are keywords that users at search engines can type in to find your website. List as many as possible (its recommended to enter around 300 keywords). After each item place a comma to seperate each item. You can enter in items such as "Salt Lake, Salt Lake City, SLC" as seperate items since to search engines they are different even if to you and I they mean the same thing.
Why can't I change the pictures of entries?
Each item is linked to the picture not the name or description. So if you want to change the picture you have to delete the entry and add a new one with the picture you want.
I keep getting errors when I upload pictures?
There are a few things to note when uploading images. First, is that it must be a valid image thats is an JPEG/JPG, GIF, or PNG. TIFFs, TGAs,PDFs and PSDs are not acceptible image types. Second, most servers has a bandwith cap for uploading via webpages. So this means that if you uploading directly from your camera you will likely get an error. Compress the images to a filesize much lower (2MB or lower is recommended). If you need help with this, email me.
I want to put an company after the name of the person, is there a way to do this?
Simply place the company name as part of the "Author" field. There really isnt need for another field as it will display the same anyway.
What is a "project"?
Some websites have projects enabled that are slightly different than galleries. The main difference is that a project does not display pictures but rather link to additional content. An example of this can be found at the Panacom website http://www.panacomproductions.com/projects.php
What if I want to list somthing like a fax number or a generic "support" or "billing"?
Simply place "support" or "fax number" etc. as the name. you can leave out things like titles etc.
What does "include as special" do?
This is for displaying special sales or items you want to draw attention to. If you have it already set up, just click the box and it will be included in the specials section. If you do not have it set up, it will do nothing. If you want that feature activated, you will have to contact me and let me know.
I keep getting "Query failed" errors.
Chanes are your web host is having problems. If this happens email me or call me and we will figure out why the database is not working.
