Dances with Motorcycles
Dances with Motorcycles
1991

As you can tell, this video came out right after Kevin Costner’s film “Dances with Wolves”.  I guess we were a little crazy, but we saw the bike, which is on the cover, of a bike with a buffalo carcass on it and the whole thing kind of came together.  In 1991, we sold the rights to the video series, “The Ultimate Souvenir of Sturgis Bike Week” to West River Video Productions in Rapid City.  We helped in the concepts, shooting and the graphics, but they did the editing.  This is a really nice program, but a way different feel to all the biker videos which went before.  After so many biker videos, we were burnt out on bikes and decided it was time to move on, so this was the last.  We had shot bikes in every angle, every lighting condition, and with every filter imaginable.  Ken Isaac said it best – “if I see another bike, I’m going to vomit”.  But it was a good ride for Panacom, we made good money, bought really good equipment and now it was time to move on to other ventures.

The Black Hills Passion Play
The Black Hills Passion Play
1992

While we were involved with the Devils Tower Project, we were approached by Johanna Meier of the Black Hills Passion Play to produce a documentary of this world famous outdoor performance.  Using interviews, historical footage, and snippets of the play itself, we captured the real story of this now defunct theatrical extravaganza.

Reflections of the D&RGW
Reflections of the D&RGW
1992

This video was produced by our friends at Historical Video Productions and produced by Norm Fish.  Like Highball in the Cab, we did the graphics for the cover which we designed and video graphics inside the program itself.  This is a great video but the graphics really made the program, (we think).

Alpine Tunnel - The Inside Story
Alpine Tunnel - The Inside Story
1993

Another video produced by our friends at Historical Video Productions and directed by Norm Fish.  Their video crew went into a closed-off train tunnel in Colorado that hadn’t been entered in over 50 years. We did the graphics for this production both cover design and extensive inserts of maps and legends of the tunnel which were included in the video case.  We also did the video graphics inside the program itself.  This is a very interesting and exciting video even if you’re not into trains.
