Black Hills Badlands and Lakes
Black Hills Badlands and Lakes
1989

In 1989, for the centennial of the state of South Dakota, we decided to produce an in-depth historical documentary.  This program has been very well received and has sold very well.  It is the definitive work on South Dakota.  Although it has been updated several times it is showing its age and we are in the process of updating it once again.

The Tops of the Mountains,
The Tops of the Mountains,
1996

After the success of "South Dakota's Black Hills, Badlands, and Lakes", we upped the ante with "The Tops of the Mountains".  Thhis was also done for the statehood centennial and this time we obtained the "official" status from the centennial commision.  This opened up all sorts of doors for us and we interviewed some of the top names in Utah.  We talked to the state geologist, the Governor, Steve Young, Jake Garn, and many noted historians.  We contacted Merlin Olsen, noted football player for the Rams as well as actor on "Little House on the Prairie", and hired him as narrator.  Again, this was the "definitive" work on the history and culture of Utah.  Its two hours long and it cost over 150,000 to make, even on a shoestring budget.

Utilizing original footage as well as footage collected from news sources on the ground, this documentary, produced in conjunction with Cinevision, Inc., ran on several local PBS stations and on a regional public television network.  This program was very exciting and was critically acclaimed by reviewers across the western states.

Grief is a complex array of emotions that are often confusing and painful to the bereaved. Because we care, we yearn to find the words or actions that may give some comfort to them. Perhaps, we are also a griever, seeking peace within ourselves.

As a grief counselor, Kathleen Braza has walked the journey of grief with many bereaved people. Her sensitive and practical insights are captured in this enlightening and highly-acclaimed program, helping each of us understand the process of grief, and how we might touch grieving hearts in healing ways.

Exodus from Yellowstone Country
Exodus from Yellowstone Country
1989

The Winter after the big fire, we returned to Yellowstone to capture the mass exodus of animals out of the park.  It was like seeing a mass evacuation of refugees but this time the refugees were the animals - walking calmly along the roads, lying in the streets of Gardner, Montana - eating up every shrub in town.  That winter was bitterly cold to boot.  Our camera batteries would last for only a few minutes so we had to be quick and constantly charge our batteries.  The Park Service was very graciious to take us around in their snow machines - otherwise this would have been impossible.  This was played on the same PBS stations and networks as the "Inferno" program.
